SMP FOR WOMEN
Women lose their hair the same way men do, approximately 49% of Australian women will be affected by hair loss in their life. The main type of hair loss in women is the same as it is in men, it is called androgenic alopecia, or female (or male) pattern baldness. In men the hair loss pattern commonly begins with a receding hairline and the top of the head also thins, often progressing into baldness. In women this begins with gradual thinning at the part line, followed by increasing density reduction from the top of the head. It is rare for a females hairline too recede and become completely bald. There are many potential causes of hair loss in women, including medical conditions, certain types of medication, stress levels and hormones.
